Snoring
Cause:
Snoring is a vibration in the back of the throat caused by a mild airflow obstruction.
Health Risks:
While annoyance to a bed partner is the most common complaint, significant disruption
of the sleep pattern, sleepiness, and high blood pressure are also linked to
snoring. Snoring is also a common symptom of a more serious sleep disorder called
sleep apnea.
Treatment:
Non-surgical and surgical treatments are available to help decrease or eliminate
snoring. Your physician will determine which treatment is right for you.
