Treatment Options

Like any other medical illness, a sleep disorder should be treated according to its cause, symptoms and severity. A person’s age, gender, family history, environment and lifestyle can be contributing factors to a sleep related disorder. A sleep problem can be temporary, intermittent, or lifelong and is often accompanied by daytime sleepiness and nightly sleep disruption. Treatment options range from simple behavioral changes, such as diet and exercise, to advanced medical attention and breathing masks worn while sleeping.
